UPDATE:  Greg is with family in Minnesota

My wish is that we all fiercely love him these final few hours and let him know how much he meant to each of us! He fought so courageously these past several weeks to be back with us again... but God had other plans. So many of us are going to miss this beautiful and loving human being! He gave us all something to remember him by... and those are the gifts that are truly priceless!
From the depths of my heart thank you for all your support, prayers, stories, memories, and kindness as we have journeyed with Jeff these past several weeks. My family and I are eternally grateful for your gifts of love and support!

This amazing human being... known throughout the land as a kind man, a great hugger, with a smile you will never forget... a loving son, brother, and friend... will be making his way to heaven in a few short days.

Our family had a meeting with the doctors today and aside from Jeff's terribly damaged lungs (which most likely would require a ventilator the rest of his life), the doctors shared that Jeff has neurological damage to his brain. When he opens his eyes while being attended to by the staff, he does not look at them or follow them around the room... a sign that his brain is not functioning properly.

The MRI did not show any major stroke or damage, but damage in many, many tiny places on his brain. Dr. Skolainski and Dr. Herson have recommended that Jeff be removed from life support when our family is ready and then help him reach for mom's hand and join her in heaven.

Since Jeff is still with us, and I have so enjoyed reading your prayers, kind words, and stories to Jeff, we are planning to have an online Zoom gathering TBD so you can continue to share with Jeff from your heart to his. He will be joining us via his hospital room iPad, so he will be able to hear your words and feel your love!

I will share more info Thursday morning so you can join us if you feel moved. His heart is still strong thanks to your outpouring of love a few weeks back and we can continue to fill his heart with love as he makes his journey to be with God, mom, and all those who love him that have passed on before him!

Thank you all so very much for your support, kindness, concern, and prayers for Jeff and our family! These past few weeks have been very challenging and it is so heart-warming and healing to have family, friends, and communities that can lift you up with love and be the wind beneath our wings. We are all eternally grateful!

Last night, Greg, flew on a red-eye flight to be with his brother, dad Ray and others in Minnesota.  Since mid-November, Greg's brother Jeff has been Covid Positive and was placed in a total care facility. Miracle after miracle, the time has come to "turn off the machines".  We cannot thank you enough for being with Jeff, us, and each other!!

You are a Blessing

For those who visit, care, and comfort. May you be comforted by your ability to care and to give comfort. May you derive strength from your own deeply held faith to be emotionally present to suffering and grief. May your prayers give voice to the awesome state of our mortality in the face of the infinite. And may you find grace to help others see that rage against loss carries within it the feisty spark of its own divine energy. That our outcry is as important as our tears.
